The Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU or IPU) is a university in Delhi, and was established by the Government of NCT of Delhi under the provisions of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University Act, 1998. The university was established by the Government of Delhi in 1998 and is affiliated to University Grants Commission(UGC).

The vision of the university is to stimulate both the hearts and minds of scholars, empowering them to contribute to the welfare of the society at large; train them to adapt themselves to the changing needs of the economy, and educate them for cultural leadership to ensure peace, harmony and prosperity for all. Its mission is to strive hard to provide a market oriented professional education to the student community of the India in general, and of Delhi in particular, with a view to serving the cause of higher education as well as to meet the needs of the Indian industries by promoting establishments of colleges and schools of studies as centres of excellence in emerging areas of education with focus on professional education in disciplines of engineering, technology, management, medicine, education, pharmacy, nursing, law etc. It is one of the reputed universities in India.

Although the GGSIPU was initially set-up to ease the burden of the University of Delhi or DU, it has emerged as a fine alternative to it as well. Guru Gobind Singh university has different departments to impart education in disciplines like-engineering, technology, business management, medicine, pharmacy, nursing, education, and law. There are more than 70 colleges affiliated to it which are run according to the rules and regulation set by the University.

The GGSIPU is counted amongst the pioneers of education in India. All modern facilities available within the campus. There is a huge library which contains more than 6350 journals including both, the hard-copy and an online format. It also has separate hostels for boys and girls.

The University is a not only a center of academic work but also gives the students ample opportunity to test their skills and make themselves physically strong by playing. There are several playgrounds for students where they can play and refresh themselves.

Admissions to various programmes in the University are given on the basis of scores obtained in Common Entrance Test(CET) of the University. The Admission test is conducted in an expeditious, systematic and transparent manner. A prospective candidate has to submit the Application Form and is then immediately issued his/her Roll Number, Examination Center, Date and Time of Examination etc. via a single window system. The results are declared as per the fixed schedule to facilitate time bound counseling as per the university guidelines.

The Guru Jambheshwar University was established in the year 1995 by an act of the Legislature of the State of Haryana and is located at Hissar, Haryana. It has been given an ‘A’ level ranking by The National Assessment and Accreditation Council(NAAC). This University is named after a holy saint, Guru Jambheshwar or Jambhoji, who was born in a remote village of Rajasthan. He dedicated his life towards the betterment of community by imparting life skills to the masses. It is one of the most reputed Universities in India.

The University is situated at Hissar, a fast growing town which is situated 166 km from Delhi. It is counted amongst some of the principal cities catering to the administrative and commercial needs of a huge rural population. It has become a hub of higher education and research with two major Universities of the State, a number of research institutions, degree colleges, breeding farms and a growing industrial environment.It is one of the famous Universities in Haryana.

The university was established with an objective to facilitate and promote research and studies in emerging areas of higher learning in the state, alongwith a focus on exploring new arenas in the field of technology, pharmacy, environmental studies, non-conventional energy sources and management studies.
